There’s never a shortage of “purdy” on public lands in Wyoming. High mountain ranges occur across the state and are natural water towers that provide clean, abundant water for many uses. Semi-arid and arid deserts occur between many of the mountain ranges and across the eastern one-third of the state. Riparian areas, rivers and streams, wetlands, and lakes and ponds are of limited areal extent, but are the life blood for people and animals. Roaded areas provide access to public lands: some are paved, some are gravel, some are no more than two-tracks. Travel on any of them requires caution due to weather and remoteness.
